“a pond awesome!… did she say no… let me check… that was a definite no… later… OK I can do later…” – Ayla

Ayla gave the little pond on Granville Island her most hopeful gaze, but with one gentle word from her mom, she sat down and posed like a pro. (It was, of course, agreed that a swim would come later.)

Granville Island is full of perfect photo spots—boardwalks, colourful walls, city views, and yes, ponds. I had a blast finding locations that brought out Ayla’s sweet, spirited Kelpie personality.

We started near the pond and wrapped up with that promised dip in False Creek, just as the sun began to set. Ayla, waiting patiently for her ball, gave me one last perfect moment to capture in the soft evening light.

Spending the golden hour with Ayla, her loving mom Lisa, and their friend Micah was an absolute delight.
